The EU Delegation to Jordan and the EU Neighbours South project are organising a virtual campus tour in Jordan called "Virtual Campus Tour #EU4YOUth Going Further Together!" on Sunday, 29 November 2020, from 9 am to 1 pm. The event is held under the #EU4YOUth regional communication campaign framework running in seven countries of the Southern Neighborhood region. The digital event aims to increase awareness and understanding of the EU-funded cooperation projects empowering youth in different fields.
As the EU invests massively to empower Jordanian youth, the event will cover three main thematic topics through panel discussions:
1. Entrepreneurship and Innovation
2. Green Deal
3. Education and Scholarship Mobility.
Each panel discussion will be followed by an intermission composed of a quiz, a film screening, a musical performance by the Jordanian band Autostrad, and a winner of RISE Talent Contest, a European Union in Jordan initiative. Answering the quizzes will likely allow youth to win laptops as educational prizes to support students. Youth can also win a prize by participating in the photo contest #ShootandShare: using the hashtags #EU4YOUth and #ShootandShare, post a picture capturing your DREAMS and ASPIRATIONS for yourself and Jordan.
Please find the program of the event in Arabic and English.

You are invited to attend the first US- Jordanian University Cooperation Network (UCN) Webinar of the Internationalization of the Campus.
Please join to learn more about how universities have transitioned from in person to virtual instruction and how they have managed this period of adaption, challenges, and opportunities. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has spread across the globe, every continent and nearly every country had to react. So, today, the world finds 99% of all formally enrolled students in tertiary education affected. These students are serving as part of a global experiment, with a wide variety of modalities being tried for continued provision of their tertiary education. The Webinar will look at main equity implications, such as the uprooting of lives; the digital divide exposing socioeconomic inequity of distance learning; and the likelihood that under-served and at-risk students will not return when campuses reopen. Recognizing these equity challenges as early as possible should allow institutions and governments to fashion interventions that mitigate the impacts and devise interventions that improve students’ persistence and retention. This is a task for governments, institutions, development partners, and individuals alike. While tertiary education institutions are first responders when it comes to at-risk students, governments need to support and complement their efforts through equity-oriented policies, frameworks, and targeted funding.
The "Internationalization of the Campus" Webinar is the first in a series of four (4) webinars taking place as follows:
November 12: Internationalization of the Campus: Tertiary Education Institutions’ Response to the Pandemic.
November 17: Linking Tertiary Education to the Labor Market
December 8: Virtual Exchange Programming
December 15: The Impact of COVID-19 on Higher Education, Technology, Emotional Distress and Lessons Learned
All webinars take place between 9:00am and 11:00am (EST).
